About us
A school with a name and a face
Fre Surf School was founded in 2018 by Pablo, at Playa de Frexulfe. Since then we have taught people to surf in western Asturias, one lesson at a time.
We're a small, close-knit school — here you're never just a number. We teach you to surf with patience, safety, and a real wish for you to love the sea as much as we do.
We work with small groups and qualified instructors so every student gets the attention they deserve, in and out of the water. Years of experience and hundreds of first waves stand behind us.
Our story
Where the name comes from
The name says it all: "Fre" comes from Frexulfe —or Frejulfe, in Castilian—, the beach where it all began, and the rest is what we do: surf school. Two spellings for the same stretch of sea, one place to learn to surf.
Playa de Frexulfe is a protected Monumento Natural, so you learn to surf in a cared-for setting of dunes and clean water. That place is part of who we are.
